    West/North London Honda dealers

    Hi all

I am seriously considering buying a new Transalp and one dealer I have visited is Lloyd Cooper in Watford. I'd be interested in opinions of them if anyone has any experience of buying there and servicing/maintenance etc.

I'm experienced with bikes, having owned many different makes and models over several decades. Another dealer I've seen is Chiswick Honda who deal only with the brand, I like solus dealers because I think they are likely to have better expertise. Lloyd Cooper deal with other brands too but I could be persuaded to go there or elsewhere.

Cooper seem to be more personal than Chiswick which I like but it would be good to get impressions from others about how good they are when it comes to servicing quality, fixing faults etc.

    Thanks

    Hi ABC,

You'll get a lot of different responses to Chiswick Honda... I used them for changing brakepads (before I learnt to do it myself), tyres (still can't do that myself) and MOT.

Nice enough guys, but it can get a bit busy there. When I came to pick up my bike after having the rear changed, they'd completely cleaned the bike, so that was a pleasant surprise...

Other people have had other experiences, some bad, some good...

'07 KTM 990 Adventure (Crash Bars, Scottoilter, 16t front sprocket, Throttle Cam. Colour: Black & Grey)
    '93 DR800 BIG (Fully farkled!)

    Gone but not forgotten:
'04 Tiger (MRA-Vario screen, Crash bars, K&N Airfilter, dual headlamp upgrade. Colour: orange, 'cause I'm Dutch, innit!)
    '93 ZZR600

I'm on the Safe House List! Garage and minor toolkit available...

I bought mine from Lloyd Cooper this April online as I live in south London and I'm very, very lazy. They offered by far the cheapest price and delivered it minus the service book. Did take a few calls to get them to remember to send the service book after that but each time they were quick to answer the phone. I'd be happy to buy from them again.

I have used Chiswick honda for the past few yeaars and bought my last two bikes from them. couple of bad experiences and servicing can be expensive but thorough.

Had an argument with them over something they should have done and did not (but tryed to charge me for it) took many phone calls to different people but in the end they admitted they had got it wrong, apologised and put it right.

    Hope it helps....

I would personally go to the independent dealer, as they will be willing to listen to you and your needs and give an appraisal of what they think will suit, then leave the final choice to you.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
