    Recovering you seat...

Had a little problem with my seat on my '88 TA, seems like it's life had finally run out, as this was still the original seat and with constant use the leather finally gave out and split accross the middle and sides where you sat on it.

On mentioning this to a friend from another club he told me about a guy he knows in Huddersfield (West Yorkshire), who re-covers motorcycle seats, and that he would probably do mine for £30..... I thought this was too good to be true, so gave the guy a ring, and took my seat in to see him. Price was indeed wrong..... he said he'll re-cover it including putting silver pipeing in to make it look better... and all for the pricely sum of ...£40 which I think is pretty good.
I left my seat with him, and after just four days rang him to see how it was going, and he said I could come and get it....!!!! And it look the dogs B****ks for my bike. (unfortunately can't post pics yet...)

He does also do seats via post orders, as long as you provide full contact details...

    His details are:
Tony Archer, Unit 7D, Riverside Works, Bradley Mills Rd, Huddersfield, HD1 6PQ. Tel 01484 536832.

I really need to do something with my TA seat. The cover is fine but the foam has completely gone. You feel like you are sitting on the seat base.New,firmer foam needed.

He does do re-foaming but did tell me that it is not always possible to get the exact shape as the original seat, due to the original being done by injection moulding of the foam, and he can only use blocks of foam, and cut to the relevant shape. But from what I've been told from peeps who have used him, he is very good at doing this.
All I could suggest is that you give him a ring, and see what he can do for you...
