    Africa Queen crash bars

I've had a gander and quite like the look of them (see here), also (More importantly?), they're cheaper than graves. Anyone had good/bad/indifferent experiences? They need to protect on road (easy, lets face it) and also hard off road drops into soil soft enough to absorb small bars like givi but hard enough to break fairings and bend fairing supports (Don't ask me how I know). Not terribly fussed about the plastics, very fussed about the rads, which I've already damaged slightly.

Or should I just man up and get graves SS bars? 'Specially since I just got my student loan through

Oh no, I thought I had it all figured out and here we go with another option.

The fitting is more like what i'm looking for, but I couldnt justify spending the money Graves want for their bars.

    Hmmmm...

By the way, what is the going rate for Grave crashbars at the moment?

When I got mine, including delivery they came out at €300. If I remember correctly - and this was when the exchange rate was quite a bit different to what it is now.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

As of the exchange rate about a fortnight ago it was £200 mild steel, £260 stainless delivered. Now a hair lower (£256 stainless delivered). When I contacted them they had a set of mild steel's ready to be sent out, though I'm really tempted by the stainless because it's a superior material. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss

Ah, yes the stainless ones would look good if I had anything other than a silver Transalp.

I think they look particularly good with the blue.

Good grief, since when do I get all "accessorise-y"???? Must be getting old........

Ah heck, I think I'll go for the graves. All those random struts of metal have to be good for attaching things to, also. Not quite sure what I'd attach, though.

Graves have the option of 25, 28 or 30mm steel. Is it possible that 30mm stainless would cause the frame to bend, rather than the bars?

Don't know, sorry. I wasn't given the choice if I remember correctly.

Just checked, and my mild steel bars are 28 mm.
