    Thoughts on the new exhaust.

Here's my new exhaust. I love it. It's Shiney and sounds good. Bike runs slightly better as well.

But, what do you all think about it's positioning?
I reckon it's too low down. When I put it on and tightened it all up this seemed to be it's natural sitting position.
I've seen a few other bikes on the forum with the same exhaust that sit higher, Am I missing something.
I'm not losing sleep over this, just interested in everyone else's thoughts.
Wether or not it can be improved?

the heights not a problem,it looks like a @ one which is no problem, might sound a bit different when you weld up that gaping hole on the downpipe collector though.

just below where the new silencer joins the main exhaust pipe, this bit is known as a collector as it joins the two down pipes together to form one pipe from the two,its got a big hole in it.
the reason it sits so low is the @ has much deeper side panels and a bracket in a different position like this one:

it's not a hole. it's the welded on bracket for the original shield. the hole is for the bolt.

It is a shame the angle does not match the side cover but otherwise it looks great.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

your right, just looked at it on the house comp not the laptop, looked like a hole, and the zoom is crap on the laptop, apologies for that,it's definitely an @ pipe though, not that there is much difference between the 600 exhaust and the @ just the neck is slightly longer on the @ collector.

you could get it higher if it bothers you by changing the link pipe, they do one for the 600 it's a bit longer and got a bend in it.

Re: Thoughts on the new exhaust.

Thanks for your thoughts there gents.

I spent quite a while shuffling the exhaust about to get it a bit higher, but this was the most comfy spot. just wondering if there was a hidden trick I'd missed.

Have checked the area in question, BTbloke, definitely not a hole. Just the bracket for the cover. I would hope I can notice the difference in sound with a hole that size.

I am going to have to fiddle with it some more though as the pannier frame needs the exhaust to be another inch higher.

    Always good to compare notes.
