Hi
What sort of mileage would you hope to get from these?
Bridgestone TW152, clicky.
I recently took my Alp in for a service and have a sneaking suspicion that the garage may have swapped the rear for an older one. Or I could just be being paranoid!![]()

I used to get about 9,000 miles to each one.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.
1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!
The set that I took the bike in with had 3900 miles on them. They've got around 4 mm of grip around the middle at the moment, wish I had checked before I handed the bike over!
After the service the guy on the desk made a point of saying there's about 800 miles left on them but 4800 miles total seems to be a long way short of what it should be.
This is the second time this garage has done something dodgy with my tires, f**k should have known better. First time I had a bike taken in with a puncture caused by a nail and they claimed it was glass and the tire was a right off.
Going to try calling a couple of tire shops tomorrow to see if 9k is about the going rate.
Thanks.
Charlie
I changed mine at over 9000 miles
it still had life left but I was going on a 1000mile trip.
the front is at 12,000 miles (original)
I mentioned this in an earlier post and some people suggested I must be on bald tyres. I take it that some get a lot less - depends on style of riding.
I do 40 miles a day and some days it is slow going all the way so it is not heavy on tyres - I have gone through new front and rear pads though.
I personally would be surprised if a dealer swapped tyres on a bike in for a service, but you never know.
If you are not heavy on tyres then I see your concerns.

There have been a number of posts relating to tires. the Bridgestone's seem to have a very bad wear rate.
It is posible they look fine for a while then wear like the clappers.
I do not see a dealer swapping tires over as it is time cost which is lost as you could go to a tire shop and get new ones not returning to the stealer.

Charlie is this the standard TA 700 Trailwing we are talking about here?
If so my first set were gone by 4,120 miles and the second rear lasted a little longer at 5,500 miles. Many riders have found similar with their trailwings but one or two folk like Stephen have had good mileage out of them.
When you say there is 4mm tread left, is that at best or at minimum in the middle of the rear tyre? If you have a minimum of 4mm and more elsewhere then I think you have a fair bit of life left in them yet. The legal minimum is 1mm but obviously the performance of the tyre in terms of shedding water is affected before then.
Dealers are many things, but they normally keep their highway robbery confined to parts and labour. I couldn't imagine them snaffling tyres...![]()
Well i'am one of them.but one or two folk like Stephen have had good mileage out of them.
Both still original after 21.500km and a year and half.
Front :still good for at least another 10 tot 15.000km.
Back :time to replace for a new Trailwing ,only 1,2mm left in the middle.
Enjoy
Fair enough, I'm being over imaginative, but even so for a sanity check will be documenting the bikes state before it goes in next time
Thanks.
Get a tire marker pen and mark the tire when you deliver it to the dealer then check it when you collect the bike, also check the milage.
I remember years ago a mate sent his bike into the shop for some work, was told it would not be ready for the weekend so went out on the loan bike.
He got to the coast to find his bike there, being used by one of the mechanics, as a toy.
