    Self tightening chain

Any idea why my chain keeps tightening?
I have to loosen it every 100 miles or so (every week or so) and aim for a decent amount of play (still have the guide sticker on the swinging arm)

I'm tightening as per instructions, and it even gets a little loob at this point as well, but when I come to inspect it again it invariabley has only an inch or so of play.

Not a new chain, but it hasn't done a great deal of miles and has a lot of adjustment left (previous owner did 50 miles last year!)

    Any ideas welcome.

Remove it and try soaking it in oil
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

If your rear wheel is not actually moving backwards and tightening the chain, then it sounds like the chain could be totally knakkered and is stiffening up, Id'e check it out if I were you cause it won't be doing the output shaft any good at all if you have too little chain play.

Are you checking the chain at lots of different places in case you have got tight spots, with the rear wheel in the air and most importantly in neutral?
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

I'll give the chain a good check over tomorrow, I have noticed any tight spots when I've casualy spun the rear wheel with oiler in hand (note the casual)
