    which fork oil is best?

    hi all,
with some time on me hands due to short of work i`ve decided to change the front fork oil and add some preload thingy`s about 10mm and see how that goes before going down the expensive variable springs etc.

simple question which make of fork oil do you all use ? cheap stuff or branded type? going up to 7.5w or 10w i`m only a light weight 10.5st so 7.5w should do for were I go.

look forward to all the different views

got a ace tool roll off ebay today for .99p

Russel when I wanted to go up to a thicker fork oil from standard 5W up to 10W I bought a premium grade 10W hydraulic oil from a local oil manifacturer about £6 for five litre just to see what the effect was like
it had the desired effect, was in for about three thousand miles and was no detriment to the forks

Iv'e got ricor intiminators fitted now and use motul synthetic 5W about £11 for one litre, I think in the standard fork any decent fork oil of the weight you want will suffice.

Don't think you will achieve much by preloading the springs.

    hi T alp,
will probably go with high grade synthetic oil whatever I can get chepest but good stuff off ebay or local.

my bikes done 26k on original fork oil so due a change and will try the preload option first as have loads bits hanging around in the garage, lookked at all the threads on the emulators and agree they seem the best option short of fitting cartridge forks but , nothing tried nothing gained as they say
