Are Dominator wheels the same as Transalp's?

    Hi all,
I'm needing to fit winter ice tyres (spiked) to the Transalp (it's law here in Norway's winter), and I have found a set of wheels and spiked tyres off a Dominator 650. I thought this would be a better and faster option if I could just swap the wheels complete, rather than having to swap tyres every 6 months.
Does anyone know if the Dominator wheels will fit? They look the same, but not 100% sure..

It would help if you could tell what Transalp you have, since there have been changes during the production.
Different brakes, different wheel bearings and such things.

If you have a newer one, you could buy these wheels

They would surley ship to Norway

Edit: Just noticed Your answer. That is quite a rare bird on these shores, the 400 Alp

Yes sorry, my Transalp is a 1993 400, the Domi is a 1994.

Yes, it's a rare bird in Norway too, pretty much the same as a 600, but with a 400 Bros motor.
This site has proved invaluable though, so many smart cookies lingering in the background..
I'm actually travelling around Norway into Sweden and up to Finland next summer, looking forward to it..

Well not fully a 400 BROS engine, the gearbox ratios are not the same, and not the carbs either.

Why leave Norge? The best roads are in the Norway!
Sweden and Finland is not as senic as Norway IMHO

I'm going back to Norway next summer, love the scenery, and the friendly natives.

I live in Tromso, so heading south, round the bottom, up to Roros, head into Sweden to Sunsdsvall then up to Kemi (Finland) following Gulf of Bothnia, then Kirkenes, Nordskap and back to Tromso. About 8000klm in a month..
I have travelled most of Norway by car, but this time I'm taking roads not seen yet on my bike and after reaching Roros, roads tend to lead back to where I have just came from. Hence the right turn into Sweden and up to Finland..

You might strike lucky. According to wemoto the bearings on the dommie wheels are 15x35x11. Tralp 600 front wheel bearings are also 15x35x11 (and I very much doubt the 400 wheels are different), so providing you've got a friendly machine shop near by that can do you for new spacers if necessary (of course, I'm assuming the wheel isn't far too wide!) then you should be good? Likewise all rear wheel bearings match.

Honda seem to like sticking with similar rims- the AT and TA use the same rim, so it's probably not terribly far fetched that the dommie also has the same rim? Even if it doesn't, so long as the tyre doesn't foul you should be fine.
