    I don't remember any major differences in doing the work and the 600 does not have all the emissions pipework on top of the cam covers - which helps.

    I was lucky. After 31,000 miles since I last checked them, they were all still spot on.

    Whether you do this job or not - get some grease on the timing cover threads or they seize solid;
    Great pictures!! That will cvome in handy when it's time to do them!

    The oil will sit far lower in the sump. As long as the bike is upright, you should be fine...

    I don't think oil is behind that side of the engine. It's only the clutch side and the central bit where the oil is.

    Don't quote me on that though.

    As Jaqueslemac has found out on his AT.

    No oil came out of mine when I did them and that was on the sidestand.
    YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    No, the magneto (flywheel) is behind there - that's what you turn to get to top dead centre - it does not run in oil. The engine cover on the other side houses the clutch - that runs in lots of oil!
