    Transalp XL600 Choke & Revs....

My 89 'alp starts OK on the choke, but the choke lever won't stay in the open position? Is this normal & if not is it anything to do with the main issue.

I rev the bike & it revs up fine, the throttle snaps back fine, but the revs fall slowly, not like they should.

If i waggle the choke cable it sends the revs nuts too.

    Help?

sounds to me like you need to lube everything that moves on the carbs, & then the choke cable too.

but I ain't an expert (as you probably guessed from the technique "if it moves, lube it!")

If the choke lever doesn't hold it's position, just tighten the pinch bolt a bit.

Varying revs mean the choke/s are sticking, remove the assembly where it enters each carb, clean & lube - including the cable.
