    Big Bang

Thought the title would get some attention, however the problem is somewhat dull annoying (for the neighbours anyway). My Alp has just started backfiring on start up. Not every time but often enough to worry me. It's due a service at 18,000 in 400 miles and although it shouldn't take long to reach should I leave it til then or is there a quick fix I should be looking at.

    Thanks in advance

    Waldo

It could be your valve clearances are out of adjustment.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Or could it be an air leak into the exhaust? Any pops/bangs on the overrun?
