It is, but it's so so useful- carry a relatively small backpack down to the shop in the topbox and you can take a weeks worth of shopping back between the two. Dead handy for when you've got a pillion, and I've managed (just) to get 2 helmets and my riding trousers in there before.

I bought One Of These, it came complete with the mounting plate.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Hey, don't count this one out just yet as they are so close to where I live that I might give them a visit and do some face-to-face, go ol' London market traders bartering, thanks

Oh I'd spotted that one too and I like it. What rack plate do you use with yours?

I got a plate from Motohaus Powersports for it. The last one when fitted to my 08 Varadero, i made with marine ply and painted it. Did the trick quite well. I was feeling tight at the time.

If you havenīt bought one yet then seriously consider this:

GIVI STYLE 45L MOTORCYCLE SCOOTER PED MOPED TOP BOX on eBay (end time 14-Feb-10 08:00:41 GMT)

I bought one of these just before Christmas and took it over to Spain for a friend of mine - he wanted it for his scooter. I wish they were selling these when I bought my topbox/panniers. For Ģ30 they are an absolute bargain!!!!!

Well due to the weather the bike has not been used so the urgency fell away but I have made my mind up and thanks for asking

I'm still saving a bit but I hope to get the Krauser K5 and the silver Ali SW Motech rack

As I say I've got most of the money together and I'm going to the bike show at the Excel in a few weeks time and will take a look around then too.

Blimey that is cheap. If anything comes up and my money has to go on something else then this'll be put in to play, thanks

    Re: Top Box

Well after much deliberation I've decided NOT to get a top box after all.

If I had a greater use for it; i.e. left kit in it or was never working at the same place every day and needed storage, then I'd have a more urgent need to buy one.

However I still needed some form or luggage to carry the essentials such as mobile, wallet, lunch box plus a shirt and tie so I decided to get a tank bag.

I managed to find and purchase a Bags Connection 'City QL' tank bag at the MCN bike show today but the tank bag adaptor is on its way in the post as they only had one to suit a GS at the show.

I might also invest in the GPS bracket and holder/bag although I do have a TomTom Rider that doesn't need any protection but I haven't read yet if the bracket can be used without the holder/bag it's shown in within their catalogues.

As and when I intend to start touring on my TA I will invest in a waterproof 'roll bag' that I can strap to the existing parcel plate.

Oh and out of this I managed to save some money so can probably afford to buy a new touring screen but only once I've worked out how much I've spent from what I'd saved from selling parts from my previous bike.
