....mmm, how much "in-out" play should there be in the gear selector shaft?
The gear lever pinch bolt had been rung off when I bought mine. It's a Touratec. The process of getting the gear lever off to check the front sprocket involved the shaft getting a bit of a hammering (removal options were few) - it seems fine, but I was just wondering how much abuse it should be able to take.
I'm considering drilling out the threads in the lever and putting through a pinch bolt with a good lock nut on the end. It rules out a repeat incident, there's no room for a drill down there! Is that a reasonable idea?
