    Angry Help Needed!!!!

    Hey Everyone!

Ok heres my problem apart from speedo issues, is the cutting out at traffic lights!! Symptoms:
    · Requires choke for most of a journey
    · If im at traffic lights, with no choke, engine at running temp bike will cut out when I go into first
    · Feels like it’s running on one cylinder
    · Just doesn’t feel smooth

My father suggested carb diaphragm so I checked them and they are fine. I put in new Sparks about a month ago but this problem was before I put them in.

    Any suggestions?? Please Help

    Mat

Certainly sounds like a fuel problem, I'd start at the beginning checking fuel line and filter, then the carbs themselves. Blocked jet, dirty bowl, sticking float.
Can't see it being electrical if choke 'appears' to cure it. Good lcuk

Check the air pathway is sound, a friends bike would cut out at idle constantly and it turned out one of the air tubes after the carb was leaking making the bike run lean and cut out on idle. Took a long time to find the problem!

You do not say what model but I would also check the vacuum take offs.
Ensure they are blanked off if they are meant to be.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: Help Needed!!!!

I had a similar issue with my 600 some time ago after I had been working on it.
I had put the vac tube that pulls the fuel on, on the vent spigot of the fuel tap so the fuel supply was pulsing on & off, the bike ran like it was on one cyclinder and cut out...

re-checked what I had messed with and sorted it

so check the fuel tap diaphragm and that the vac pipe is not blocked or split... simple check

sometimes its the simple things that screw you over as you miss them

    Re: Help Needed!!!!

Vacuum fuel diaphram sounds at fault I had this problem years ago on a Suzuki mechanics could'nt find the fault ,I found it after I had to rebuild the engine after it had screwed all my bores up.
It does do alot of damage if left so try looking at the Diapham first.
