    XL650 Transalp European headlight needed

Does any one have for sale a headlight for a transalp 650 which is from a bike in europe (the arrow on the headlight will point to the right)

I am willing to buy or swap for a UK headlight.

The reason I need is that I'm living in Holland and in order to keep my bike whilst im here I have to get it tested under dutch regs.

    Cheers Mark.

I didnt think so either but if you put your lights on normal beam youll see on the left the pattern is slightly higher i guess to illuminate the pavement (and pedestrians)

Maybe You can get international ones but I had a surf and couldnt find anything.

I had no problems in France last year, I have not even noticed the left being higher than the right.
Take the bike to a tester and get it checked as is before forking out for a new front fairing.
Yes the Light unit is the main mounting for the rest of the fairing.

I did contact the test place and they said that the beam had to pick up on the right not the left to pass the test.

I asked if I could use tape to block the light but they said it had to be permenant.

I think your ok just travelling through europe as most people dont even notice it.

    They would say that but,
Have they actually tested it to see if it does indeed need another unit?

Yeah u can see the beam spread and I checked on the goverment website and it even had a diagram of how the beam spread should look, I guess its a common problem.

Is that right that I have to replace the complete fairing to change the head lamp?

Check with the local Honda dealers to see if they have them in and look at the difference, As I say it is a major part of the fairing, it mount to the bike frame and the fairing side panels mount to it.
