You can get the retaineer from David Silvers or maybe even Wemoto.

As you're in Surrey, it might be worth calling Warehouse Motorcycles in Godstone, Surrey to see if they have any secondhand TA engines.

    Take a good hard look at the sprocket .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ........
..............................................you done that? ok can you see that the chain is now running on the inner surface (cos the cogs worn).and the teeth on said sprocket are all chipped where it is not inline with rear sprocket(munch munch munch)
As soon as a new chain is fitted it will be stretched by the ill-fitting teeth on the sprocket,ok it would work just changing the rear sprocket and chain but for how long and will it be safe???
    Whats your diagnoses now ?

Yep, I had a good look 1st time round & still reckon that, going off the 1st pics posted that the sprocket could be reused - not ideal but give time to find a proper solution.
I have seen much worse sprockets in use (not on my bikes tho)!!!

The third pic in BT's post, I'm not sure what it relates too as it's a different sprocket altogether, it's not an original Honda as the first pics & shows greater wear to the teeth - both hooking & wear on the sides from bad chain alignment.

Maybe I'm blind but I cannot see the chipping on the sprocket teeth mentioned by others either.
But hey,ho. Each to their own opinion, eh

    Part number is 90118958003

You can find all the part numbers here - ZSF

All you need is your bike's VIN (chassis number) and you're away.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

As for the welding,I would disagree with the guy,as long as you cooled the shaft correctly it should do no furhter damage if it did have to be re-welded,If there were any damage it would have already been done with the amount of weld on it already,at least if it was re welded in the correct position it would be on for another 20k and not a worry.Especially if was welded properly. Some guys on here have ground off and rewelded several times with no ill effects.
    Is this offer still available?
I have ordered the parts so hopefully should be getting them this week, pm me your email address and let me know if you're going to be around this weekend.

    Thanks

Iv'e not had this problem myself, and I am wondering if anybody has tried what Im'e about to suggest ( I will stand any embarassment you want to throw at me as this is just a thought trying to help solve the problem and I have not looked into it any further) ------------- depending how the shaft splines are stripped is it possible to piggyback the centre of one srocket onto the back of a new sprocket so as to get further onto the shaft and onto a good part of the splines, maybe the damaged part of the splines would need building up to support the full sprocket.

Just a thought and like I say Iv'e not looked any further at it so Im';e ready for the s*** if you want to throw it!

THROW THAT SPROCKET FAR AWAY!!! New oem sprocket £18+/-, retainer £7, Thread-lock & dremmel cutting bits (car-boot- loads of). With a good eye, a steady hand & a little patience... you could quite easily tinker that to almost original. Get a measurement of how far the sprocket should fit from the end of the shaft. Grind off the excess & Re-cut the splines a little at a time until the sprocket-retainer slides on & turns so the bolt holes line-up. Good luck.. know you'll sort it if you make effort. 2/3 hours
