    It may be worth looking into getting a new shaft fitted before too long.
    YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Tacked???

    Should be a nice strong rose weld as tacking will see it come off.. After that though it'll definately need replacing!!

    Well, I was thinking farm style tacks Kymmy! Stick welder, 180amps...

    Sounds like our old Oxford unit that we have.. Big oil cooled thing..

    Much the same, I haven't a clue the make, suffice to say it is 40-50 yrs old and works well. Properly engineered in the first place I guess.
