Gotta say, I had no probs last year in the Dolomites and believe me, I was testing the brakes on some of those bends....

Check that the brake pistons move freely when you squeeze the lever & push them back in.
Change the fluid (with pistons pushed fully in).
Check that they are stock pads (give them & rub over with sandpaper if they are - including the crap from the central groove) or change them.
Do the calipers slide freely on the anchor brackets - lube the pins with red rubber grease.
Change brake hoses if you want (with fluid change) - although they should be fine (how many car owners change flexi brake hoses after **years?)

Personally, I would drop the fluid as others say and see if that sharpened matters up, the TA brakes do have a habit of seizing up when not used and I would guess that age can also cause the odd problem in this area too?

I was disappointed with the brakes on mine until I replaced the disks and replaced the EBC pads with Honda originals, now the brakes feel that they belong on the bike and I no longer feel I will not be able to stop.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE
