I almost put E-07's on my '01. I do quite a bit on road as I commute daily but at weekends get off on the gravel back country roads in NZ north Island. Have gone for the Shinko E-705 as I prob do 70/30 road/gravel(+some mild offroad!). Got 1000kms on them including some gravel roads and they feel good so far and still look brand new. Bit more aggressive tread pattern than the Tourance or Annakee but more roady than the Mitas E-07's. Pretty impressed with them on gravel, particularly when stood up on the pegs; good feel. Wouldn't be keen on them in mud but then again have a few mates here who have run E-07's and they're not very impressed with those in wet offroad conditions either! The usual story: what road/offroad split you planning on doing and when offroad what conditions you most likely to meet: tyres are always a compromise I guess!

That is absolutely correct. Tyres are most definately a compromise. It's finding a tyre that suits the conditions and lasts 50,000 miles and costs loose change that's difficult. lol.

    Right all,

just ordered my tyres : Hedenau K60 from
    moto-tyres.co.uk - Details: Heidenau K 60 M+S 110/80 B19 TL 59T

cost £98.30 for front and back Bargin me thinks.

I bought thestd K60 not hte Mud and Snow as the "Tousers" site said they were softer compound for winter and the motorway work would rip them up faster and some Guy in scandanavia said there crap in soft snow.

So nowt new there, will let you know how I get on.

Good that you ordered the K60 s. You will find the handling a bit weird when you fit the front, like it's went flat. You get used to it and learn to hustle it into corners and after a few hundred miles, it is magic.

    Re: Moitas E07 tyres?

I have the hard compound ones as well and you saw how well they coped in the snow and cold temperatures at Christmas in the Peaks.

The rear has 7800 on it and still 6mm in the middle, 7mm at the chewed edges. The front won't last much longer though it's still rounded at 3-4mm and has done 4500 miles. I expect I will get TLD10 out of them and will need a new pair then

02 RD07a RWB, Powerbronze tall screen, Remus Grand Prix, TT crash bars, TT pannier frame, Zega style panniers, Alpos top box,TT bar risers, TT headlamp guard, Heated grips, mainstand, Heidenau K60s for road and light offroad, TKC80s for the dirty stuff, Scottoiler, Autocomm, TT Zumo mount, Zumo 550 and most of all A BIG GRIN !!! Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica
