Hi All,
Finally got the TRANSALP 600 VJ through its mot today after 11 years of neglect in a shed by its previous owner. Nearly all of the work I did myself with the exception of powder coating the rims and wheel building with s/steel spokes. Mind you this did come to £400.00 with BT45'S/tubes and tapes etc. Oh well you all know how these minor tart up,s go.
Will take a few pictures tonight. Let me know what you think.
The run to the testing station did show up a flat spot from idle to c. 2500rpm as though it is running on one cylinder. I suspect it is the rear as this takes longer to get warm.
My gut feeling is a blocked pilot/idle jet after 11 years storage but any ideas welcome please. I have put in fresh fuel, oil and filter change and new plugs and the engine runs great above about 2500rpm but is very `wooly` below this. It does tick over at 1000rpm and when choke is used from cold it appears to fire on both cylinder but this is around 2500 rpm when it runs fine anyway.
Bit of a novice with PC`S but photos are in the picture section under Bozzer.
Look forward to your assistance and hope to meet up at an event in the near future.
