Sun-tan lotion also works against the dreaded midge and tends to be more available in the local shops. It will, of course be about 20 years over its expiry date having been on the shelf so long... Naturally, don't forget to pack your waterproofs and cover yourself and the bike in grease...

NW Scotland is truly excellent biking country and I am always mildly surprised that there are so few (British) bikers over there. Plenty of Germans/Dutch and the occassional lost Frenchman. On a sunny day unbeatable, on a rainy day - let's just say my geographical knowledge of good coffee shops is par excellence..

Thanks for the thread, we used mobile phones and two second hand digital Camcorders which recorderd onto memory cards.A small tripod was used for some of the long shots and we had two rubber mounts to fix the cameras to the bikes. The movie was then edited on windows Movie maker after having lots of trouble converting the files to a format that Windows Moive maker would understand.

Absolutly fantastic. The first time I saw a 600 Transalp I wanted one, they were launched at the time when there was little scope for me to have a new bike. Every time I see one I still think they are a great looking bike and although I have never ridden one I know they are so good from their reputation.
The bikes coupled with the location of the video have just starrted me off wanting one again.
I love the west coast of Scotland and I was fortunate enough to have one of the most memorable biking hollidays I will ever have in that area.
The ferries add to the adventure, traveling to different Islands or crossing the lochs.
    Thanks for the video.
PS even the midges didnt spoil it too much.

the avon skin so soft soft and fresh is the range to go for as it contains citronella which is an insect repelant.
the fragrance isn't too bad (does'nt make you smell like a tart).
avon do not promote this product as an insect repelant as its not designed for that purpose but it does work.
