    Trail attack tyres

    Hi every one,
Had a set of Trail attacks fitted to my 700 alp today and wanted to know what pressures people are using out there,
The tyre fitter said to ignore the standard pressures and told me to put 32 psi front & 36 psi rear ?,

I have been using the same tyre place for over 15 years and tend to follow what they say,
Allso had new tubes fitted at same time,

    Ian.

Recently talked to a disty rep who reckoned you should run oem Tyres as per the handbook but other Tyres as per the tyre manufacturer recommendations.

So I usually run TA Tyres at 32 rear but I ran the last BT45's at 40! Yes 40 psi!

Performed better in the wet, otherwise ran as normal. Best thing was that after high mileage, where it would usually square off in the middle with pronounced edges, it was a lot rounder, less square but equally worn through the thread.

Just put on new Dunlop Trailmax TR71's to try out and I'm running them as per the Manu which is also 42psi.

    Re: Trail attack tyres

As above I always go by the tyre Manufacturers recommendation as they know their tyres. The Standard pressures in the hand book are for the OEM.
I use Avon Distanzias and find that 30 front and 36 rear work best.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    Re: Trail attack tyres

Hi, sent Email of to continental tyres about tyre pressures for the trail attack tyres,
They recommend 29 psi front & 33 psi rear, for the 700 alp,
I had a ride out on sunday with the tyres set at the pressures given by the tyre fitter only to find the back end was very bumpy, so I let some air out on the way back and found the ride much better with no bumping around on the back end,
After checking the tyres when cold I find the pressures weare about the same as continental have given me

    Re: Trail attack tyres

I have the same tyres for my 700, which are really great !
The manual said 36/42 for them, but it was nót working at all.

So I changed to 32/36 and it works great, but I will follow your example and Contis instuctions and try the 29/33 combination.

By the way, arent these tyres really amazing ?
