Hi, I all ways carry a tin of tyre foam some times called tyre weld,
Comes in a aresole can, I think it says on the can use on tubeless tyres only but I have used it over the last twenty years and has worked well on tubed & tubeless tyres, It has got me home mainy a time after a flat,
Only down side is that when used on tubeless tyres most tyre repaires will Not plug the tyre because they say the foam makes it imposable to glue the plug safely to the tyre !
As for products like Slime I have had no look with them at all,
    Ian.

I bought some ride-on and have found it ideal in my tubes, it helps balance the wheel and prevents a sudden deflation from a puncture.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

    thanks for the hints -

well time will tell - i have a hunch tyre weld will work on a tubed tyre if the hole is a hole and not a tear. from what chemistry i know, it would make sense that foams work both on tubes and tubeless...the only thing being that a tubed tyre has a tendency to keep tearing if you ride on it, which would make it impossible to fix with a spray?

i have ordered slime anyway though - we will see which performs best

when i had my recent puctures on the piel island trip the tyre weld stuff was complete Sh1te with tubed tyres

I carry an electric pump levers and a spare tube/s

you can get away with a 21inch tube in the back to get you home ( not tried it just heard it said, but makes sense ), that way you only need to carry 1, but if your carring pump levers and one tube , another is not that much extra?

ohh and a center stand help

used the 17' tube i had in the first pucture, then when it went again the next day resorted to two cans of tyreweld.. no joy..

Even though I was quite vigilant checking the inside of the tyre whre the tube was holed, I rocon I missed it and that what caused the second one..

I would also carry a repair kit too

tyre came of real easy as it was hot..
