Ok...another question since everybody is so nice

Ok, second newbie question in one day...

what do you do if you have a puncture. I can only find puncture repair kits for tubeless tyres locally, and i cannot order anything from internet because aerosols do not ship by air!!

    any helpful advice?

    Reuben

p.s. would carrying a bicycle pump be any good

The bicycle pump would be handy for blowing up your rubber doll while waiting for the breakdown service

On the road - call the breakdown service.
Off road - Hope someone has some tyre levers, "G" clamps, air bottles, plugs or patches - and the strength to "break the bead"

If you cannot locate a product called 'Slime' or similar on your island the best advice is to find an old bike wheel with a knackered tyre and practice, practice, practice. Tubed tyres are much easier to mount and dismount that tubeless. Some good levers, bead soap, a good pump and lots of practice will remove all your puncture fears.

I know "slime" but if i am not mistaken, that still needs some sort of air to blow up the tyre right?

Are small 12v air compressors not available where you live? I have one that is no larger than a lunchbox and it was only about £20 works a treat.

Stirrup pumps are too big so you're always going to take a while using a cycle pump to blow up a flattened bike tyre, but IMHO the best available is this: Decathlon - MAINTENANCE-REPAIR MAT-TOOLS tools inflator - pump B'TWIN - Clever 900 with gauge B'TWIN - inflating all types of tyres with ease and comfort. Up to 10 bar air pressure (compatible with Schrader and Presta valves). It has a double chamber so that each stroke shifts twice the volume of air you'd expect, it is designed to sit on the floor (there's a flip out bit to stand on) and has a cross handle so it behaves like a small stirrup pump, and it has a pressure gauge.
1997 Jag 3.2 Exec (jangly jangly!); two bicycles; 2001 XL 650 V-1 which is ready for anything, cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter and just gets better and better and a low mileage Pan European ST1100
