The water must have been in there for quite a while then.
I have heard lots of Horror stories about Dobles Service Department, They don't seem to be getting any better.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

I shall certainly try and get them to sort the bushes out also. Bearing in mind the bike is only 3 years old I think it is a strong chance the water has f**ked them. And yes Paul I shall check my chain and my seat incase they take that off also. And the bit's at the end of my swingarm! And anything else I suspect they have touched.

The swing arm doesn't have bushes, they have bearings.
If I recall the bearings don't have seals fitted but have cup seals fitted to the swingarm.
Both my bikes had a little corrosion on the rh bearing as it seems water can get in on that side. The bearings were good enough to clean up, repack with grease & reassemble.

If you have play, the bearings must be knackered - probably from steam cleaning.

When you get the bike, remove the rear wheel & chain adjusters & squire a load of Waxoil/WD40/ACF50 etc in there.

It's amazing how many Alps you see with the 'up' arrow pointing down

Well it didn't come from steam cleaning!I will certainly check out what they do when I get the bike back and give a good spray with wd or the like.

The bike is an 07 and when I bought it from Dobles last year I got a years warrenty on it so hopefully they should sort this out.
The water/mud thing was totally normal on my bike.

    Re: Water in my swingarm!

Took it back to Dobles today. They checked iside the swing arm and said there was no corrosion (as they would.) They sprayed preventative spray in there also. Will check when I get chance/can be bothered. Saw my mate the mechanic before going to see them who assured me there would be no lasting damage, He also said the 'play' was coming from the suspention linkage and was totally unrelated to the water. He also said it wasn't worth worrying about and wouldn't fail an MOT. Doble's said exacly the same and narrowed it down to 2 needle bearings. I made sure I got all this in writing just in case.

    Re: Water in my swingarm!

If the movement is side to side, it is swingarm bearings. If it's linkages then, with the bike on the centre stand, there will be freeplay up and down at the back wheel. There should be no free play at all. If there is free play, strip and re-grease the linkage and check the bearings for rust damage.
