    Renthal Bars Do Fit!

Well after a whole day of struggling in the shed I have finally fitted Renthal Street Fighter bars to my 700, at the same time I fitted heated grips and a touring screen

    Clearences are tight but ok.
Honda switch gear and throttle body has nipples to align to bars, these have to be removed.
On my ABS 09-plate I still needed the additional wiring loom (had read I wouldn't).

Will add photos when I get onto a real computer (not iPad)

These nipples will have to be removed unless you want to drill your new bars (which being strengthened alu will not be easy)

Switch gear back on, and grips glued (easy enough to do, the glue takes a few minutes to set so you have a chance to adjust)

The additional wiring loom (the quartet harness) plugs into the white 6 way plug on the left, but you could make your own connection if you did not have the loom, it is just a +ve and -ve wire coming from the grips/controller

Last thing is to fit the screen's additional deflectors (the wipe is a special adhesive promotor or something)

From experience, drilling the bars is dead easy.

Also from experience, getting the hole in exactly the right place is not quite so easy...

I didn't even bother trying on my TA and just removed the location pegs with a Dremel

They are very similar but as I was replacing the grips I thought it would not be too much more effort to do the bars. The Renthals are lighter and more rigid, they vibrate less despite not having bar end weights. And the bar in the middle is great for mounting a gps

They look good! Be interested to feel the difference in vibration as you say as well as the positioning. Wonder if they'd allow my risers to fit also?

So how much where they then?

Not surprised to see you finally go for the oem tall screen at last. Let's see if you can feel the difference.

If you leave a tiny bit of the peg on there (and I mean really tiny) then the switchgear doesn't tend to move around as the surface of the Renthall's is slightly rough. You can also tape the bar if you find it does move. It won't be as secure as having the location peg but I've never had any issues.

I think with risers they would be better as the clearance would be less of an issue, they are tight on mine.

    £45 ish from B&C Express.

Screen much better on my arms, Puig was fine for head but arms took a lot of blast.

No, except indicator cluster moved a bit so I put a blob of the grip glue underneath

    Yes, did this on some.
