Only had mine a month, 01 bike with just over 9000 miles on it in great condition. Took the taller screen off it and put the std one back on as there was less turbulence and even with my peaked helmet it's fine (5' 10" tall).

Been told the Honda stand is the one to have (David Silver have these for sale)

Got TKC tyres on it, as I do the odd trail but I'll be swapping these for Distanzas or Tourances when they wear out as I would like more of a road tyre, I've used both on dusty trails and they seem fine unless you get too confident. I can get the BSA on the dirt if I feel the need

Loving the bike, did 220 miles last weekend and it was great, can't think i'd want anything else, but a little more ommph on the Dual Carrageways would be good...

I took the taller, touring screen (that my bike came with) off as the noise was ridiculous. I replaced it with an MRA Vario screen. Much happier.

As for the centre stand, I've the genuine Honda one fitted. Word of warning - it is a two man job to fit it. I have a guide somewhere that goes much further than the Honda instructions. I'll have a look for it.

Tyres - there's as many opinions about tyres as there are Transalp riders. My preference is Michelin Anakee 2's.
    Brrrmm - '04 XL650V Transalp in Silver

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Einstein - Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

On the Safe House list. Well, I say safe............

I Soon replaced my tall screen with the MRA Vario, vast improvement. If I'd found this link, somewhere on this forum, beforehand, I would have tried one of these, Heroblobs — Aero-Trim on the tall and the standard screen, both of which are now laying around just taking up space.

I replaced my tall screen for the MRA Vario and it made a big difference.
There are as many opinions about tyres as there are makes.
