    XL650V versus YZF R1 and GSX-R 600

Thought some of you would like this:

3 of us went to bike show yesterday.

    Me on Transalp.
    Mate 1 on R1.
    Mate 2 on GSX.

We all left Stroud together at 11am. M5 then A46. Fairly busy and we got split up.

I got there 30 mins before they did.

So it seems that speed aint everything!

Oh yeah, R1 mate got nicked for speeding -

    LOl that's fantastic.
I have this a lot with riders I follow in to work.
A GSRX600 overtook me tonight when I was doing 100. He then did some quite lunatic overtaking all the way back, and I was just able to be smooth and quickand was never far behind without really rushing to catch up.
I kept thinking to myself that he's not going to be around for much longer riding like that.

I find it fascinating riding behind someone and looking at their riding styles. There's one bloke that I follow that is so twitchy its really funny. Another sports 600 bike where he continually weaves left to right (i assume to warm his tyres!) and is always twitching his head and looking left, right , nodding and generally everything except concentrate on what's going on in front.
    Forum help and advice needed?

I find that when filtering in traffic ( I do quiet a lot on the M4 / M3) most of the sports bikers either have a death wish and just charge down the middle, or, will find a taller bike (me on my AT), get in behind me, and follow me down. This is proving to be more common.. I see little groups of bikers on sports bikes gathering behind adventure sports bikes / tourers to filter. it seems beign slower, bigger and having more of a presence on the road is appreciated and noticed by the babygrow fraternity.

Now.. If I can just stop those damn scooters from gettign in my way in town... life would be good !
