Do it properly.
The gasket is not that expensive either from Honda or aftermarket, they go hard & brittle with heat/age.
You need to drain the coolant & remove the carbs to remove the rocker cover so do it right & thoroughly check the rear one for leaks too.
The bolts do "bottom out" on the rocker shaft/assembly, the bolt washers seal underneath against thr r/cover & with a lip against the bolt itself, if suspect, it'd be worth replacing these too.
It really aint worth going to the trouble of removing it all, bodging it & finding leaks a few months later
