    Rear wheel bearings???

My alp needs new bearings at the rear. Shall I just get any of ebay or are there differences like let's say in brake pads and chain/sprockets ?
Or is D.Silver still the place to go ?
    Cheers guys

    Re: Rear wheel bearings???

I ordered a set of bearings from Silvers the other week and they completely f'ed the order up
Sent me 2x right hand bearings for my AT instead of one of each....luckily the LH one was ok. But as they got several other things wrong with the order I'd go back to using Wemoto..and in fact I have done with my chain/sprocket set...
Ordered pads from Lings Honda as Wemoto only do after market jobbies which seem to have a mixed reception...anyway, we'll see how much of it, if anything makes it as far as Turkey!

If you can afford the downtime take the old bearings out and take a note of the numbers on the outer race and pop into your local bearing supplier. Last time I did them (on a Suzuki) BRT (there is one in Wickford) had all but one of them in stock and the other only took a day or so to arrive. Cost me around a tenner including the seals. If you are lucky you may me able to get the numbers off the bearings in situ but often it's better to take them in with you.

Pete, had very good service from Simply Bearings. If you get the ident numbers off the bearings, then it will be any easy job for them to supply replacements. Personally I'd go for a good "named" brand such FAG, SKF, Timken etc.

Oh, and they're just round the corner from Pigugly's place.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Well, that's the last time I mix red wine and the Famous Grouse on a Thursday night ( on hols )
Thought I read above that you are going to carry out some maintenance on that poor old neglected Trannie

We all know that you are to spannering what the hunchback of Notre Damme is to ballet dancing

I always fit Honda bearings. When I had my hub issues a while back, I noticed that the genuine bearings were tighter fit, whereas the aftermarket were not.
I could of course, be totally wrong, just my impression and no doubt someone will come along and say differently

    Good luck you old tart

Have you not got some sheep to bother somewhere deep in the mountains ??

Yep me thinks it's time for new bearings. Noticed it last time I had to pick her out of the mud Got new brake lines on order and got to order a caliber refurb kit as the front just starts a little bid to bind. See all these years of drinking beer while standing next to chad while he fixes my bikes where not completely wasted

And shouldn't you be pressing your uncle's old uniform ready to lead your team out this evening?

Whatever you do don't stand in the space allocated to the Poles.
