Thread: Faulty indicator

    Faulty indicator

My right front indicator does not work. It's not the bulb. The clicker thing still makes the back one flash at twice the speed.

Is it a break in the wire or the regulator thingy.... if I knew where that was anyway.

I'm expecting the answer to be bleeding obvious. But my bike maintenance is fairly limited.

Probally a bad connection in the bulb holder or the connections behind it.

Clean it all up and spray with WD40

Yes, I would think the same. Bad bulb socket. Do this... just swap the front turn signal connections. If you find the same issue on that same side you'll know it's not the bulb socket and have to dig deeper.

Cheers, It was, the holder. Ten minutes bothering to look found out the problem. By having fairly new cars for a while I have got out of the habit of even looking under the bonnet. Something goes wrong in it goes. I feel strangely empowered again fiddling around and getting something to work again.

Another plus for bike ownership... I have even bought a haynes manual.

Excellent. Get that bike stripped down and rebuilt again.
    You know it makes sense.

    I couldn't agree more.
A bonus to this is you'll have loads of bits left over for other jobs
