I'm off to the SIWA oasis EGYPT end of March, but that will probably be in a bus full of goats and chickens etc.

East Europe and Turkey is in my plans for a relatively accessible but adventurous trip. If I had more time, and money I suppose, it would be the South of South of America - Argentina, Chile, and possibly Bolivia and a bit of Peru. Fly/Boat the bike out and spend 6weeks+ out there. Its a dream really. It'll be spain with the family again.

2007 Varadero XLV1000. Now you're torquing but sadly gone to another forum member. One of the best bikes - period.

A big trip to Weston Super Mare eh.... well I can help you there. You can live at my place for a few weeks.
    Careful of the locals mind.

Watch out for the ones with webs between their fingers, they may have attended the local "initiation".

Dave, don't spoil the surprise, he'll love it!

PS I escaped cough-21 years ago and STILL have the occasional, waking in a cold sweat, nightmare. But it's getting better. Slowly.

Those guys doing the beach enduro? Locals from outlying villages (Banwell, Wrington, Winscombe and so on) trying to get the speed up to escape the gravity that W-S-M generates.

    Really.

    Oh yes.

    Sidmouth's nice.

    That is all.

The 2009 Varadero International Meeting (VIM) is being held in Turkey. A number of UK riders will be making the trip - mostly on Varadero's but all Honda trailies welcome. If your regular travelling companion rides another make/model, they too will be welcome.
A fairly robust 2 week round trip. With 3 weeks you could have a nice look round Turkey - get to the border with Iran

i have done a Blazing Trails trip but that was to Goa. they are a good company i think and it was an excellent time.

if you go to India dont forget Malaria tabs and something to keep the "Delhi belly" at bay.

Re: 2009 big trip where to go

    Hi Barftone
    I too have done a trip with Blazing Trails - South India, if intersted see;
    http://uk.geocities.com/colincampbel....com/Index.htm

A friend went on their Himalayas trip and really enjoyed it. Reckons is is quite demanding and for example mentioned that when REALY high up, had trouble breathing if the Enfield didn't fire up quickly... just the effort of kick starting was hard.

    Cheers
    Col
