Places to Stay - Ypres / Luxembourg

Hi all, I'm off for a toodle around the battlefields and am looking for a recommended place to stay in Ypres. Any advice? Looking for camping / cheap and cheerful hotel.

Oh, I'll also be in the Luxembourg area so any camping recommendations there would be greatly appreciated!

myself and some mates stayed here a couple of years ago http://www.cherryblossom.be/ - excellent set up, british owned and run, garaging for the bikes, food superb.

I'm off to france/luxembouirg at the end of the month and we're staying here: seems well recommended and biker friendly - will post a report and pics when i get back.

Ypres has an excellent camp site on the outskirts of the town, not far from the Menin gate (bugles every night - last post) blow you away.

Visit TYNE COT biggest commonwealth war grave, 12000 war dead, ride east towards Zonnebeker.


Also recommend memorial at Thiepvale on the Somme.

Thanks for the advice guys. Managed to find the campsite I think you were talking about in Ypres - Camping Jeugstadion - seems to be just round the corner from the Menin Gate which is what I was looking for.

Am going to Thiepval and Albert as there is a South African memorial at Delville Wood (me being a Colonial and all) so am keen to pay my respects to all in the area.

Pete - Thanks. Am staying in a campsite which looks like it's right near where you're staying in Lux. Will let you know what it's like in the area!
