Well thanks for all the feedback peeps.
It was wet was it not. The M3 was horrid but it calmed down when I got to Cadnham and stopped for a soggy roll up and a cup of earl gray by the roadside. Forest was lurvely as was the camping shop on the corner at Lyndhurst traffic lights...brought a cheapo gas cooker and billy cans to cook the tinned hot dog sausages I brought down for my Son in his den in the woods at school...Bought loadsa batteries in the market for him and had a pizza at Ask, its a "routine" sorta thing the boy and I have to do. Had a "vesuvious" pizza, blooming hot chillies and pepperami etc, glad I declined the extra drizzle of chilli oil and pepper....
Road trip back was fine except for those ghastly roadworks and when the rain restarted on the M27 portsmouth area.
I did see some sun peeping through the clouds and even came home with a waterproof cigerette socket, £3.99!!, from the chandelry shop by the quay. Jamie reckoned I should have brought an anchor from there too for the bike but I was not convinced. Got caught short in a road by the reed beds called undershore, that was embarrasing let me tell you..possibly because I pigged out on that hot pizza???
All in all a thoroughly awesome day, not spoiled by the inclement weather or anything else. Back again in the car Weds to pick him up for half term. Si...
