    Arizona

Hi folks, i am off to Arizona in Feb with work for 3 months and am looking to hire a crosser or tourer to get me around. Has anyone been out there?? Am after any recommendations for hire companies and or routes. I will have about 1 week off to hopefully go touring. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where abouts are you living?? I spent a week going from Tucson through Phoenix to Flagstaff and then onto the Grand Canyon and then to Vegas for the last few days couple of months ago...

The mountains around Sedona are amazing - take the 179 which turns into the 89A from the 17 and it drops you back out on the 17 just outside of Flagstaff...

The Grand Canyon is worth a visit if you have never been... I hadnt and thought it was amazing... You have to pay to get into the park and you have to pay from a min of 7 days so it might me worth spending a weekend up there if that is your thing...

Vegas is also on your doorstep if you are in the north and the Hoover Dam is worth a trip...

As for hiring bikes... I had the joy of a rentalbox for the week so didnt get the chance to ride but there is a Harley dealership network around the Canyon http://www.grandcanyonhd.com who might be worth dropping an email to to see what they do if that is the sort of thing you are after.... A friend who rides a Harley told me about them so that is a recommendation of sorts... Oh and there is a themed Route 66 diner near it as well which comes highly recommended from the same chap....

Anything else give me a shout...

Hey Nick, thanks for that. I will be working out of Watts airfield near Tuscon. I have been to the Grand Canyon before but think that it is worth the trip again, am waiting on some emails back from hire firms with types of bikes and prices, i am also now considering buying a cheap bike so that i have some wheels for the duration

    Hi mate,

Was working out of Davis Monthan near Tucson last year myself,
I can endorse what Nick says he hit the nail on the head, some Harleys where procured from a local shop cannot remember who as I did not strike up the deal, but enjoy your trip and be safe.
