    Italian Dolomites meeting in August

    Hi all !
I wish to let you know that a group of Italian Transalp club members have organized a meeting in South Tyrol from 20th till 23rd August 2009. This is not an official meeting such as the ITT, a national or a regional meeting, the purpose of this event is giving Italians and foreign bikers (TA, AT and VA owners mainly) the opportunity to meet up during the summertime, visiting and enjoying both the Italian Dolomites and South Tyrol region.
You can find out further information on the following website:
    http://www.mauriziococucci.net/idf2009.html
We look forward to meeting you !

    Scorpio

PS.If you are interested in watching something about the kind of atmosphere you can find at our meetings here's a nice video we published on youtube:

Just a quick hallo to remind that if someone of you is planning a ride to Italy for next Summer we have planned this meeting to visit Italian Dolomites.

    Hi Maurizio, hows things?

This sounds a great meet & the Dolomites rank as my fave biking destination
Much as we'd love to have a run down, other commitments mean that it is not possible .

Hope that you have a great time.

Hi Phil, though in this period I can't ride my TA very often and especially where I want (mountains) because of the snow (I haven't seen so much snow in years) I am fine.
I am looking forward to going to the next ITT that will be also my first meeting this year.

I hope to meet you soon for a ride.

Hi. This looks tempting! Do you know if the 40euro rate for the hotel is the same for single people or is there a supplement? Cheers, Jason

Hi Jason, yes there is a supplement of 5 euro per night only if you ask for to sleep in a single room when booking, if instead you agree to share the room with another person (not more than one because we have double rooms available only) but we don't have a second guest for your room, because the number of participants is not pair, you don't have to pay any supplement.

Re: Italian Dolomites meeting in August

I flagged this trip up back in the Spring with a stray thought that it sounded and looked like a super run down and the opportunity of a great few days in the Tyol and surrounding areas. I have wanted to see this area for a long time too!

I am still looking and now looking very hard at this trip and wondered about the logistics of the run there and back. I reckon from the mapsource navigation, that it will be managable taking it gently with minimal autoroute work, inside 3 days from Shropshire. I do not go to Yurrup to sit on motorways on a Transalp! Across N France, Luxembourg, and then on down across Germany. I've done quite a bit of the route years ago, but not all in one trip.

SWMBO may give me a pass out to go for a week if I keep the costs down and from our Round France trip with JaquesleMac in April, this can be done with camping etc. I see Haynesemail is taking the gathering in, anyone else from xrv going?

Scorpio, are there still places available?

Thumbs up Re: Italian Dolomites meeting in August

    Hi Maurizio

Just a quick note to say thanks for organising the Dolomites meet. Your knowledge of the area and your 'rain-avoiding' mobile phone really made our trip to some of the world's most stunning riding roads the best it could have been. The hotel too was spot on and the company was great all round.

By the way, thanks for the chain oil. Daily sprays and a brief stop at a garage somewhere near Colmar got me home without issue.

    All the best

    Jason
