Morocco Raid 2009

Last Chance for any lonely souls looking to join other like minded travellers for a trip to Morocco - ( starting to sound like a lonely hearts Add )

Trip is 5th April to 23rd April, travelling Plymouth to Santander 2 days through Spain and off to North Africa, taking in all the sites of Morocco as far down as Zagora, Merzouga etc..

Will be a mix of piste and road on Fully laden bikes, riding until we get knackered and camping under the stars for the majority- with the odd Auberge thrown in if we land lucky. So far looking like two of us going neither Dakar Gods so no worries there.

Bikes Going are a BMW 1150GS and a RD04 Africa Twin. Both weighing in at over 200KG fully laden so we wont be traversing the whole of the Sahara Desert ( Wel not by Choice anyhow )

A route has been planned out but its not set in stone mearly a guide to see us over the trickier parts of the Atlas Mountain Regions, and some of the Sandier routes around Zagora etc..

Just an opportunity for you if you fancied it but have no one to travel with, get yourself onboard.

If your serious the Ferry is getting booked on Wednesday.

So reply quick

Chris

That sounds brilliant, I'm seriously tempted. Would those be the sailing dates? I've just checked and it's telling me 313 quid return which is super value.

Re: Morocco Raid 2009

Thats the sailing dates Yes

£313 is what I have got aswell,

Dont think about it, just get permsission, leave booked at work, world travel insurance from Carole Nash, Free Jabs from the Doctors, Make sure your v5 is all sorted out for the temporary import forms.

Fit TKCs to your bike, slime the tubes to prevent punctures, sort out some tools to remove wheels if required.

Camping gear, food etc and the get to the ferry.

The Rest is what we make it

Would have loved to join in but wrong time for me unfortunately.

I plan to do much the same as yourselves but it will be near the end of the year now for me.

Have cycled over the Atlas and down through Zagora to Mhamid a couple of times and this is the reason I got a Transalp two years ago, as am now getting a bit decripit.

Re: Morocco Raid 2009

Fabien, hi there,

You will no doubt be riding down from France, so we might see you there at some point,

We could arrange a meet up at any point if you have a route sorted out.
