Dambusters
Hi, I am thinking of taking a run to Germany to have a look at the dam that was made famous by the dambusters in the 2nd world war
Has any one visited the area ? Or stoped over around this area, Thanks, Ian. |

Re: Dambusters
A quick update, went out yesterday for quick run with Fishbone and Panrider first stretch was down to Biggesee then up toward the Mohne and we more or less stumbled over the Sorpe this was the one of the three dams targetted during the war but being an earth fill dam it was not breached, all I can say was seeing that there was no planning and we just rode around it was fantastic, next time out will be planned and I'll take a camera but the area around the dams of which there must be 20 at least is fantastic
Clutchspring let me know when coming over it would be great to meet up. An afternoon out http://maps.google.de/maps?f=d&sourc...,1.244202&z=10 |
