SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!

To all those soft southerners taken in by this blatant con trick - don't come up here, the weather's rubbish, there's no scenery to speak of, the roads are boring (not a twisty to be seen) and the midgies are trained killers (that's true at least!). So just stay down south and get your kicks traffic splitting on the urban rat runs, it's not worth coming up here - trust me, I'm an ex-pat Cockney.

Phew! That should have headed off the invasion, we can keep the playground to ourselves now.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Don't blame you one bit, it looks idyllic.... until it rains or the midges emerge! I liked the look of the high pass he took in the first episode, proper trailie country. Inevitably, it reminds me of the West of Ireland, but much more rugged and mountainous.

SWMBO, is VERY interested in heading into scotland and my grand plan is for her to train it up to Glasgae and I meet her there on the bike and off we go....

Ep #3 (out of 6 I believe) was on last night, very good series which Jen and I have been enjoying, if you track down applecross on googleearth he's about a mile or two up the coast in a very small bay... Pity though he's only doing 6 months which means he'll miss the winter..

PS...You just gotta love Rubens who's really the star of the show

Rubens is the star - he was a rescue dug !! he must be thinking he's died and gone to heaven !!

Monty is a bit of an eejit- entertaining - yes, but still an eejit !!. I mean digging a soak well at sea level about a hundred yards from the high water mark and then saying "it's a bit brackish !!" and spending £90 on fuel for an outboard to catch 2 fish !! Nice bit of telly, but in no way representative of life beyond the fringes of civilisation.

The Applecross area is well within a day tour for me - leave after breakfast - morning coffee in Fort William - lunch in Applecross and home via Inverness and the A9 for "tea" as we say up here !!
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

    Re: monty halls (Applecross Area)

Just so happens keeping myself amused at work to-day, the boys on Saturday were saying Applecross is fantastic I mentioned to the wife (toe water spring to mind) and right away she says that is where that loonie on the telly is. Any way as I was saying, according to google map it's 231 miles and a kick in the a*se off 6 hours .

I really wish that run was on my day ride calander Enjoy Wee Jack, enjoy ....

That was me thinking downloaded sunrise sunset times (how sad am I ). Want to stop over though and enjoy. I like being 'there' as much as getting 'there'.

Will put the kettle on for you if I head up that way
