Mallorca

Hey people, In June I am taking my AT overland and sea to Mallorca. I am crossing via the Channel Tunnel this end but have nothing booked for the Mallorca crossing. Has anyone done this ? Any advice or similar experience much appreciated. This is also my first bike trip through France and Spain so any general stuff would be good. What to watch out for ? Any good stuff to take etc etc

Re: Mallorca

Don't have any tips regarding getting your bike over to Mallorca, but you're in for a treat once you get there..

Lots of narrow twisty roads that has ocean on one side, and mountains straight up on the other. Amazing views everywhere you go almost.
I'd recommend going out to Cap Formentor all the way up north, just the road there is worth the trip. Also, there are lots of small roads to take you all around the edge of the island, perfect AT country

You're in for a treat!

It may be worth posting, or atleast moving this post to the TRAVEL or looking in the RIDE REPORTS areas of the forum.

You can get to either of these by clicking "forums" in the top right hand corner of your browser, or using the links I've put in above.

If you'd like this post moved to one or other forums, where you may get better feedback to your question, let us know, and a moderator will move it. This area of the forum is dedicated to Africa Twins, so you may not be hitting your target audience as well.

Cheers

Bob

Re: Mallorca

Hi Lancer,
There are three ferry operators on the Island Balearia,Trasmediterranea and Iscomar, they run every day and take about 7 hours to cross, you can book it online in english, one of them runs a so called fast service that takes 4 hours but you pay more,it`s a pity you didn`t come two weeks ago they had a round the Island tour which started in the centre of Palma and went all up through the mountains Estallens,Valldmossa,Soller,Lluc,Pollenca and down the east coast to Campos,Llucmajor and back into Palma,it was manic in the mountains there was 5000 bikes.
ps you must visit Andora on your way here or on your way back.
pm me if you need any more info,I would arrange to meet up but both bikes are back in the UK,the Ducati is for sale and the @ is ready for the IOM trip.
