South of France here I come

Me and Mrs Austin are off on Tuesday on late holiday to South of France (or Spain, or wherever it gets hot). Leaving Tuesday pm "after work", so that'll be about 3pm, for the 11.30 ferry at Plymouth. First night is booked at Motobreaks Motorcycle Tours France » Home by Motobreaks then its head for South West of France and the med where we will be camping somewhere. If it ain't hot when we get there we will head south through Spain 'til it gets warm enough. We are back Santander to Plymouth on 1st October.

Bike is serviced, new tyres and brakes fitted and I have fashioned a new luggage mounting system to take the big bag on the rear carrier. We are packing today as we are out on family duties all day tomorrow and I don't want any surprises on Monday evening.

Can't wait, the clock seems to have started ticking very slowly.

Hey Austin, have a good travel!

One thing, Northern Spain is not as warm as it was 20-30 days ago, specially Eastern coastal regions of the peninsula, were we have an ongoing sort of stormy-autumn weather. It is not strange to have downpours in the afternoon-evening. But you English are familiar with that, aren't you?

And temperature, it's ok but a bit cool when sun sets.

    Good luck!

The village of Roscoff - next to the port, is nice if you want breakfast before hitting the road.

bought some euros today too, £515 got me just 550euro Just a couple of years ago I am sure £500 got about 700euro. I think this is going to be an expensive trip - I blame Gordon.

Hi Rick, I will have a look at the map later and PM you if it looks like you are en-route - thanks. No real route planned other than head South towards Languedoc or beyond 'til it gets warm enough.

    cheers
