    hi clutch springs,
I use the nuvi 550 same as yours but less biker stuff, my bikes already got a fuel gauge and I know when its empty coss I stop.

Think the 660 is larger and a few more usefull[ if your that way inclined] things but wouldnt swap as I`d have to buy all new mounts again.

    Re: zumo660

Hi, I've got a 660. Used it to find my way to Magny Cours a few weeks ago.
It performed very well and saved a lot of agro, so I'm happy I bought it even though it was a bit pricey. I like the blue tooth to phone and automatic download of phone book etc. Mine links to a starcom via cable (starcom noise from passenger mic is a pain, but I just want to moan about that as it’s nothing to do with the 660)
MP3 player is good. Display is good. Info is good.
Now I'm pretty fussy so Ill tell you the things I don’t like.
I worry about dropping it, it is just a hard plastic surround which is quite slippy. Every time I load it onto the mount I check carefully coz if it dropped it just feels like it will not cope well. A rubber surround would seems like better idea.
It crashed once and I had to call Garmin to get the soft re-boot sequence, but I didn't lose any data (MP3’s etc), as warned.
I can't seem to register it on their website, the process just goes around in a loop. I was on their web site for ages fiddling with map unlocks, system upgrade etc. in the end I hadn't a clue what I'd managed to do (but in my experience this is just a general Garmin thing not the 660).
I would like a hole in the case to put a lock wire through for safety. Getting the battery cover off is a pain yet needs to be done to connect to computer. The Lady gets confused with directions sometimes and Oh yes, the on off switch is getting dodgy. I'm concerned about this as it sort of works , but not, It is very fiddly and if it does go completely, will it still be under guarantee? Now winter is here probbly not. However, overall I think it has a lot more to offer, I just need more time to play. If you just want to get from A to B you might want to consider something less expensive.
