    Yes go for it,

    I did from Tucson Arizona across to Texas and then over into Mexico,
    one of the best and safest crossings is at El Paso over the rio Grande, but it can get busy, Take extra care in Mexico, Its all a wonderful trip on a bike enjoy.

    You will have a great trip. If its any use to you I did the lower 48 a few years back and the blog is stilll there if it helps. I didnt have as much time as you though www.blog-adventure-usa.blogspot.com

    Death Valley on the bike is amazing and worth considerable time to expore.
