Shaver sockets in Germany

The charger for my camera has fold out pins that are designed for the American market but it does fit into these combined shaver sockets often found in bathrooms here in the UK

The pins are the same as this

Does anyone know if they, as a rule, have similar combined sockets that would take such a charger in German bathrooms (or anywhere else)?

No problems with the voltage. it's the physical fittings I am interested in.

In German bathrooms and all other rooms in the house for that matter, you nearly always have the normal european 2 pin plug sockets.

So the flat pins won't fit then. In the UK our shaver sockets will take flat or round pins.

They wont fit
you would need an American European adapter

or a shaver to UK household plug and then to a Euro adapter

I've probably got a multi charger kicking round somewhere with 10 different plugs and voltage settings

Re: Shaver sockets in Germany

Anything even remotely recent will accept anything between 100 and 250V, so it's just the physical pins you need to change.

This will work fine for that purpose, and it's hard to beat the price.

Re: Shaver sockets in Germany

Thanks all.
I've actually got another charger that takes a figure of eight lead and I've plenty of euro leads. I was just hoping I could use the US one as its one box which doesn't need external lead thus saving packing space.

Re: Shaver sockets in Germany

Boris mate, not much shaver sockets in campsites, any how you won't leave your charger sitting in the sh*tter long enough to charge a battery?

12v charger on the bike, battery in tank bag while travelling, or you could leave it charging under the seat overnight like Robster did at the Stella then rely on a German camper to jump start your bike! Ha ha!

BTBloke, that's a very stereotypical view of the Germans you've got there mate? Nena video's and a bit too much Medal of Honour I thinks!

Some campsites over here allow you to leave stuff on charge at reception I was just wondering if that was the case there the small charger would fit.

As for charging on the bike. The topbox of the vara has a fag lighter socket in it so I can always charge my phone on the move (or overnight if you can give me a push start in the morning) but my camera charger is a mains jobbie and I'm not going to muck about with inverters and suchlike. Mrs Boris' camera takes the same battery so I may just bring her battery aswell and take the risk.

Or I could take her battery and the charger with a euro lead just to be on the safe safe side.

Anyone got a trailer to fit a varadero?

Oh well, I suppose I could manage a push, Fiona will be delighted to take pictures!
I bought a 12mp Kodak that takes AA batteries as you can get them in most shops or supermarkets, although I take four with me and that usually does me for the two weeks. I would think you'd get by on a couple of those lithium jobbies.
