There's a nice quiet village less than 20mile from the preston junction, the village has 4 good pubs all on a mini roundabout and one that does b&b, it's a little place called Whalley in the heart of the Ribble valley.

The Swan and the Whalley arms, had a few good nights in them

I used to live in Barnoldswick and spent a lot of time round that way, Whalley, Bolton by Bowland, Clitheroe etc, happy days, you must not know PiF to suggest he spends money on a hotel, maybe he will camp on the A59 roundabout next to Macdoods
