Well, I've an 04 955i Tiger and after 20,000 miles I've no sign of any oil leaks. Sorry Raymo, even the hard life with me, on and offroad it doesn't show the British built in oil leak!
I'd take the casing and the crankshaft cover cap off and have a look see, if there's an issue with the gasket change it, or if as greedy as me, a smear of instant gasket and tighten them up, they'll be fine!
Agreed, looks like an oil leak, possibly rattled slack but a nip up should sort it out. Let us know how you geet on mate.

Re: Tiger: should I be worried about this?

    thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I'm going to go down to Carl Rosner (is on my way to the coast anyway this weekend) to see if they can tighten the bolts, or get me a new gasket. Since I don't have any tools here myself (everything is back in the Netherlands, and even there I don't have a torque wrench), it's a bit difficult doing it myself.

I'll let all of you know what the problem was.

    Cheers,

    JB
