    Hmmm... Tigers Huh.

Ive been offered an 01 955i tiger with 15k on it and i find myself sorely tempted !!!!. The price is right too.

The KTM is not going, just got the itch for another bike it would save puttin high miles on the orange beastie tho..

    Should I .............Hmmm.

if the price is right I say get it. Keep the KTM for best - salt will soon turn it into nasty mess.

I have always quite fancied a 955 tiger myself and you don't hear that much bed stuff about them

Get thee behind me Santa ! ,(that'll be the dyslexia kicking in again ).

really, really tempted , I must admit Austin , I'm waiting for the Tiger boys to give me some more info tho, Jacques reckons 48ish mpg and with a 6 gal tank =30l ?, that should be a 250 mile tank range .

    We'll see on Monday matey.

I really love my Tiger and have covered just over 12,000 miles since I bought it. It's far more powerful than I need, but it's pretty comfortable and a great road bike, even in traffic.

Ask AfricaJim for his views on performance, as he's far quicker than I am.

Also, check the 12,000 mile service has been done. It's very expensive.

I have to admit, though, £ for £ the Africa Twin makes me smile more.

    Re: Hmmm... Tigers Huh.

In my opinion the Tiger is a great machine, good road manners, comfort, and the ability to cover a load of miles 2 up with luggage while returning mid 40s fuel consumption. I do not do any serious off road stuff, just the odd forestry road (when no one is looking) but it is a heavy bike so it may be a bit of a handfull in muddy conditions.

As the one you are looking at is well out of warranty just do the services yourself as everything is pretty easy with the exception of setting the throttle bodies unless you have the tool for the job.

The only regret I have about the Tiger was not buying one years ago!!

BTW the tank is 24 litres I am told.

This bike is just gonna be used as a hack really, all the servicing will be done by me.

It wont be going off-road . just as a road bike for riding around. could have a speed triple 955i for the same money but no screen and / or luggage capacity puts me off.

STAN FFS buy an Africa Twin. You know it makes sense.Use the KTM to go to the shops to buy milk and the twin for riding......anywhere.

buy the tiger if the price is right - It will cope with the milage and winter as the finish is very good. - mine has 61000 miles and still looks immaclate - ask chad.

Stan its a 4 gallon tank and I reckon to get about 210miles to the tank, In 4500 miles I've have no reliability issues and on the road you'll find its got loads of grin factor, although off road they;re sh*t.........
