That's what I did the last time (actually what Wee Jack did for me)...
Would changing the fluids make them stay firm for longer (sounds like a really bad spam message)?
Or should I just keep bleeding them every once in a while?
Need to get new screws for the reservoir regardless, current ones are quite bad...

You'll lose most of the fluid anyway when you remove the pistons so draining the system is the way I do it......at least then you have some control of where it’s going....I tend to remove the calliper completely and do all the work at the bench rather than struggling in the proximity of the bike, plus I get to sit them in the vice and give them a good all round clean.....once the seal recess are cleaned out and seals in place wipe a smear of brake fluid around them to aid re-fitting the pistons (I have omitted this bit before and tore a brand new set of seals forcing the pistons in Doh)
One more thing....when bleeding the rear brake I always find it better to remove the calliper and let it dangle on the floor....this eliminates that nasty slack (hump) in the brake pipe that has a habit of retaining air in the system......the fronts do not seem to suffer from this (probably because the master cylinder is so much higher up)

Looking good and as BT said great space for some extra spots.
Thats my next purchase when the bank manager allows me to, nice set of bars to protect the plastic that took me so long to source spray and fit.
What make are they and how much if you don't mind me asking![]()
I've bought the same ones after reading your post. I hope to fit this weekend. Any tips on fitting, better to ask than suffer the same problems![]()
