Re: A 1999 tiger for touring the States??

As Cabby so sensibly stated, have a look at the most common bike around, except the Harley, that way you know you will be able to keep it on the road.
Have a great time and I am not Jealous.

Re: A 1999 tiger for touring the States??

Hey thanks for all the responses....

It was a beautifully sunny day today and I went into a few bike shops - 5 hours of walking - it's going to be so good to get a bike!!
I'm now 100% completely sure I'm not getting a cruiser
I was even talked out of it by the dealers!

I also decided too that the tiger maybe wastn't such a good idea as out in the sticks it may be harder to get parts, the tiger is a plane flight away and I've never even ridden one, and I might get there and not want to buy it.

And then just now on the way home one rode past me.....
and I just wanted it so much!!!
They're such great looking bikes

I think I'm going to write a book on finding it hard to make decisions

Will let you know when I'm on two wheels

i think weestroms are very popular in the states? might suit you, have you tried one? not quite as imposing as a tiger but sweet v twin from sv650, comfy, good load-lugger, good headlights.

loads of info on stromtrooper.com forum

Hey Meesh how's it going??

Thanks... it's been a huge journey so far and that's without the bike!! People here are just great, I've been looked after by some hugely generous real angels. So far I just love California it's a great way of living here even in the winter...

So today I'm a happy - must be the prospect of looking at the Buell

Great to hear a little about your trip! I'm sure there are plenty of bikes that will do you fine. A Tiger should serve you well, and I (also) believe Vee Stroms are popular there. HOWEVER, make sure you can get insurance before you buy. It might be the deciding factor.

Re: A 1999 tiger for touring the States??

I'm keeping the sun shining, Jem!!!

I hope you are taking lots of pics whilst in California.... I think its marvelous that you are doing this (envious too). I've started my own jam jar of savings - just need to find some challenging adventures that I can do and work out how to do them.

Looking forward to hearing about the Buell - hope you like it when you see it.

Take care and have lots of fun, Jem.
