We actually said in the mods forum that we'd decide the location to stop any of the problems we had last time. Assuming of course that's ok with everyone.
We decided on Scotland to hold this years event.
What we haven't decided on is where in Scotland, so if you could nudge the tiller to decide where then that would help.
I also think we've decided when as well but I'm going to need to go and look that up.

Right just checked our last thread on the matter.
Location: Scotland, but suggestion is something just over the border allowing for those travelling further a bit of leeway and for plenty of scope for day rides.
Date: Not confirmed, but would suggest that same time as last years?

I can recommend Ullapool
Absolutly ace.Great Campsite, lovely town with lots of decent pubs,B&B's.Brilliant ride outsjust have a look at my Ullapool thread.Sky,Applecross all within a days ride(well for most of us anyway ,hey Zenarchy
)
Northern coastal road is a must
I can understand the Borders area as a logical choice to allow less of a haul from the south. There are plenty of roads / routes in & around that area, plus, for the dedicated of road element that frequent this forum, being near the Englishire border will allow a dirty days riding to be had as well
.
Ullapool would also get my vote, cos it's local to me (2 hrs ride away), surrounded by superb roads and rides ( 2 days and never the same road covered twice) and what LV says about camping locations is spot on. Only downer would be a complete lack of off road possibilities (unless Lowflyer can set something up with the locals on Skyeor I can swing a couple of hours dodging UXB's on a local bombing range
).
If you decide to use Ullapool as a base I'd be only too glad too help sort out venue / routes etc, and I'm fairly sure the others up this neck of the woods would lend a hand if required.
Either way, put me down as attending either location.
Roll on the summer I say![]()
Hmmmmm Scotland...
Always wanted to go there sometime, and it's a nice ride up from Newcastle, so it's got my vote.
(I just hope my money and days off last to september...)

Steve T, whats the crack with green-lanes in Scotland? I'm aware, I think, that Scotland doesn't have "public rights of way", but there is lots of mountain biking/horse riding going on, so how do you know where to do it, and where you can just walk?
